Who This Program Is For
This is a structured, rotating-partner program and is not a beginner clinic. Players should have prior experience playing round robins and open play, know the rules and scoring, and be comfortable playing with new partners at a steady competitive pace. This is a level base program.
What to Expect
- Rotating matchups for balanced competition
- A friendly atmosphere and strong community spirit
- Fun incentives to keep each week exciting
- Indoor comfort with the same great vibe as our outdoor events
Choosing Your Level
Register for the level that matches your current skill, not the one you hope to reach or the time fits your schedule. Wrentham Recreation may recommend appropriate level change if we feel a player signs up for the wrong division.
Skill Levels
Intermediate level criteria (3.0-3.5)

- Keep rallies going with consistent serves, returns, and groundstrokes
- Dink with control and sustain a dink rally at the kitchen line
- Execute backhand shots reliably, not just as a last resort
- Hit a developing third-shot drop, with a growing ability to land it in the kitchen
- Play with strategy, including shot selection, placement, and moving with your partner
- Rate 3.0-3.5 (or equivalent) on a recognized rating system
This session is fast paced and competitive with fun focused games. This program is not for you, if you’re still learning the rules or basic shots.
Advanced level criteria (3.6-4.5)
To play in this session, you should be able to:
- Play with high consistency and very few unforced errors
- Place shots precisely and use them to control the point
- Control the net and the kitchen line, with strong dinks, blocks, and resets
- Execute third-shot drops consistently, landing them in the kitchen under pressure
- Vary power and spin on drives, serves, and returns to dictate play
- Read the game, anticipate your opponents, and move in sync with your partner
- Rate 3.5+ (or equivalent) on a recognized rating system
This session is faster-paced than intermediate session, hard hitting, and highly competitive fun games. If you’re still developing your third-shot drop, net game, or want slower pace games please join our intermediate session.

- Be a good sport: Respect all players. It's just a game.
- Say hello: Greet familiar faces and introduce yourself to new ones.
- Call the ball fairly: If a ball is out on your side, call it. When it's close, give your opponent the benefit of the doubt.
- Be gracious with faults: Be cautious about calling kitchen and serving faults, since it's easy to miss them from a distance.
- Respect spectators: Friendly encouragement is welcome. Disruptive or combative comments are not.
