Your Guide to Open Play, Leagues, Clinics and Events

Location

General Information

  • Open to All: Pickleball play is free and open to all towns.
  • First Come, First Served: Courts are available to the public whenever open play or leagues are not scheduled (see schedule below).
  • Pickleball-Only Nets: Please use nets exclusively for pickleball.
  • Stay Updated: Wrentham Recreation uses the TeamReach app for all schedules, sign-ups, and updates. Group Code: Sweatt02093 (see instructions below).
  • Sign Up Encouraged: We recommend signing up for calendar events via TeamReach to help us anticipate attendance and it lets other players know you are coming (see instructions below).


Pickleball Formats

Open Play

Open Play provides a flexible, casual setting for players of all levels. The “next-up” system rotates players as courts open, ensuring fair play time. Sessions may mix or group players by ability. Games usually go to 11 points (win by 2), but formats may change based on wait times. Rotation is managed with a paddle rack or whiteboard. TeamReach sign-up is suggested but optional, and all Wrentham open play sessions are FREE.

Round Robin

The Round Robin format pairs players with and against different partners, fostering variety, camaraderie, and balanced competition - ideal for leagues and tournaments. Our Tuesday Round Robin requires pre-registration via TeamReach for Tuesday night sessions (capped at 18 players). There is a $10 fee per player payable day of at the courts – cash or credit card only.

Open Play:
  • Open Play (FREE)
  • Weekdays (Mon-Fri): 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM (All Levels)
  • Weekends: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM (All Levels)
  • Evenings (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri): 5:00 PM – Dusk (All Levels)
  • Schedule subject to change

Tuesday Night Round Robin Tournament:
  • 4:00 PM – Competitive Level: For experienced players seeking a challenge.
  • 6:00 PM – Intermediate Level: For those wanting a relaxed but competitive game.
  • Fee $10pp – payable day of at the courts (cash or credit card only)
  • Players rotate partners and opponents, competing for the highest total score.
  • Prizes awarded to top 2 players.
  • Registration required on TeamReach
  • Spots are limited to 18 players per level - sign up early!
  • Schedule subject to change

  • Download TeamReach from the App Store TeamReach.com
  • Enter the group code: Sweatt02093
  • Sign up with your email, Google, or Facebook account
  • Complete your profile details and press continue

Signing Up for Calendar Events on TeamReach

  • Tap the calendar icon at the top
  • Select the event you want to attend
  • Choose “Yes” (attending) or “Maybe” (unsure)
  • Tap “View” to see other attendees. You can comment or update your status anytime


Player Levels Explained

  • Social Level: Non-competitive, friendly play. Ideal for beginners, advanced beginners, and intermediates. Players should know the rules and move around the court safely
  • Intermediate Level: For those who want a mix of social and competitive play, with a faster pace. Suitable for lower and upper intermediates
  • Competitive Level: Fast-paced, competitive play. Recommended for upper intermediate and advanced players
  • All Levels: Everyone welcome! Courts may be designated by level based on attendance


Reminders & Policies

  • For public use only - open play format is in effect during peak hours (see details above)
  • Nets are strictly for pickleball
  • No coaching or clinics unless authorized by the Town of Wrentham
